Interfilm Productions Inc. is a Vancouver based independent production company with a varied slate of projects in development and a diverse experience behind its belt. Helmed by the president Boris Ivanov the company is dedicated to producing first rate programming.
Over the last several years we've concentrated on developing fiction as well as documentary ideas that are now being realized.

Boris Ivanov
President · Producer / Director
Boris Ivanov is a Canadian director and producer. With over two decades of experience in documentary and dramatic production, Boris brings a deep commitment to human-centered storytelling across all his work. He is the director of On Putin’s Blacklist, which premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival, and a Creative BC funded new media project In The Monument, a moving portrait of Holocaust remembrance. His most recent directing work, 15 Minutes of Reality, takes a revealing and often playful look at the business of reality television and the fleeting fame it manufactures. As a producer, Boris is best known for Family Portrait in Black and White, which premiered in competition at the Sundance Film Festival and won Best Canadian Feature at Hot Docs. He also produced Love Translated, which explored cross-cultural romance in Ukraine and was selected for the Chicago International Film Festival, and High Five: A Suburban Adoption Saga, a festival favorite at VIFF.
Julia Ivanova
Producer / Director
Julia Ivanova, a documentary film director and editor, grew up in Moscow and was trained at the Russian Film Institute (VGIK). After immigrating to Canada in 1995, Julia together with her brother Boris Ivanov self-produced their first documentary, From Russia For Love, which has been televised in 26 countries. In the decades that followed Julia felt a deep commitment to making films that break individual and societal perceptions. She directed a number of intimate films on the topics of minorities, orphanhood and search for love. Her titles include Fatherhood Dreams for Global TV, High Five: A Suburban Adoption Saga for Knowledge Network, True Love or Marriage Fraud for CBC, Limit is the Sky for NFB, and My Dads, My Moms, and Me for Telus and Love Translated broadcast on Discovery Fit & Health. She has won Awards at Hot Docs Film Festival, Doxa, Valladolid, and Mirasdoc. She is a active Member of the Director's Guild of Canada as well as Documentary Organization of Canada.
